# Company settings

> Manage company-wide identity, record defaults, security, and email import settings.

Company settings apply across every book in your company.

Go to **Settings** → **Company settings**.

## Company details and record defaults

* **Company name** — The company name shown across Slant.
* **Company website** — Used where Slant needs your firm's website or brand context.
* **Default household name** — Sets how new clients and prospects are named.
* **Lock new notes by default** — Creates new notes as locked until an admin unlocks them.
* **Default country** — Sets the initial country for new phone numbers and addresses. It does not rewrite existing records.

The country picker places your default first when you add an address or phone number. Slant uses the United States when no company default has been selected.

## Security and email import

* **Automatic sign-out** — Signs users out after the selected period of inactivity.
* **Blacklisted emails** — Prevents messages from listed addresses or domains from importing for anyone in the company.

Click **Save changes** after updating company settings.
