# Release Schwab data to Slant

> Authorize Slant to receive Charles Schwab account data on your behalf.

After you add your Schwab advisor code in Slant, you need to authorize Schwab to release your account data. Schwab handles this through a **Request for Data Access Agreement** in the Schwab Institutional portal.

<Note>
  ROI processing timeline: **5–8 business days** after submission.
</Note>

## Submit the data access request

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign in to Schwab Institutional">
    Log in at [login.si2.schwabinstitutional.com](https://login.si2.schwabinstitutional.com/) and select **Account Management** at the top of the page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the Forms library">
    Go to [Forms library](https://si2.schwabinstitutional.com/SI2/Home/Utilities/AccountManagement.aspx/?route=forms-lib) inside Account Management.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the data access form">
    Search for **Request for Data Access Agreement**. To the right of that form, click **Submit Request**.

    Fill in Advisor & Firm Information, Master Accounts, and the Third-party data recipient section with the following:

    * **Recipient and Signer:** Slant CRM

    Then click **Submit request**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign the DocuSign">
    Within three business days, you, your service provider, and the service provider's agent (if applicable) receive a DocuSign notification email. Open it and sign.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Once all signatures are collected, Schwab assigns the master account to Slant and emails confirmation. Account data starts flowing into Slant the night after activation.

If you have questions about the data access setup process, call Schwab Advisor Platform Support at **800-647-5465**.

## Firm-level ROI (optional)

If your firm operates under a single umbrella master account, you can complete one ROI at the firm level to cover every advisor code beneath it. Schwab calls this a Firm Level ROI and delivers it via a FAM file.

<Note>
  This must be configured with Schwab in advance — call Schwab Advisor Platform Support at **800-647-5465** and reference your firm's SL Master to request that the FAM file be generated for your feeds.
</Note>

Once configured, the FAM file is added to the Slant data feed and includes the Client-to-Advisor (Master #) relationship for every account.

## Request SSN / Tax ID release (optional)

Schwab masks SSN and Tax ID information in the standard data feed. If you need unmasked tax identifiers to match accounts to households automatically in Slant, you can request release separately.

Call Schwab Advisor Platform Support at **800-647-5465** and ask them to unmask SSN/Tax ID information and include it in the data feed sent to Slant.

<Warning>
  Schwab requires a separate request for each new master account. If you authorize multiple master accounts, repeat the request for each one.
</Warning>

For more on how Slant uses tax IDs for account matching, see [Linking accounts to clients](/setting-up-slant/integrations/custodian/linking).
