Having trouble with Slant? This guide covers common issues and how to resolve them.

Login issues

Can’t log in

Symptoms: Login fails or loops back to login page. Try:
  1. Clear browser cache and cookies
  2. Try an incognito/private window
  3. Check if Caps Lock is on
  4. Reset your password via “Forgot password”
  5. Try a different browser
Still stuck? Contact support with your email address and error message.

Account locked

Symptoms: Message says account is locked or suspended. Causes:
  • Too many failed login attempts
  • Account deactivated by admin
  • Security concern detected
Fix: Wait 15 minutes and try again. If still locked, contact your admin or support.

Two-factor authentication issues

Symptoms: Can’t complete 2FA verification. Try:
  1. Check your phone’s time is correct (affects TOTP codes)
  2. Use a backup code if you have one
  3. Request a new code via SMS (if available)
  4. Contact support for account recovery

Email sync issues

Emails not syncing

Symptoms: New emails don’t appear in Slant. Check:
  1. Email integration is connected (Settings → Integrations)
  2. Sync is enabled (not paused)
  3. Recent sync timestamp shows recent activity
Fix:
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting your email
  • Check if your email provider is experiencing issues
  • Verify OAuth permissions are still valid

Emails going to wrong client

Symptoms: Emails appear on wrong household records. Causes:
  • Email address associated with wrong person
  • Multiple people share an email address
Fix:
  • Verify email address assignments on person records
  • Update incorrect email associations

Can’t send emails

Symptoms: Emails fail to send from Slant. Check:
  1. Email integration is fully connected
  2. “Send” permission was granted during OAuth
  3. Recipient email address is valid
  4. You’re not over sending limits
Common errors:
  • “Authentication failed” — Reconnect email integration
  • “Invalid recipient” — Check email address spelling
  • “Rate limited” — Wait and try again

Calendar sync issues

Meetings not appearing

Symptoms: Calendar events don’t show in Slant. Check:
  1. Calendar sync is enabled
  2. Correct calendar is selected as primary
  3. Events aren’t too far in future (sync range limits)
Fix: Verify calendar permissions and try reconnecting.

Wrong timezone

Symptoms: Meeting times are off by hours. Fix:
  1. Check your timezone in account settings
  2. Verify your calendar’s timezone setting
  3. Ensure events have correct timezone in original calendar

Performance issues

Slant is slow

Try:
  1. Refresh the page
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Check your internet connection
  4. Try a different browser
  5. Disable browser extensions temporarily

Page won’t load

Try:
  1. Hard refresh: ⌘ Shift R (Mac) or Ctrl Shift R (Windows)
  2. Clear cache and cookies
  3. Check if Slant status page shows issues
  4. Try accessing from a different device

Data not saving

Symptoms: Changes aren’t persisting. Check:
  1. You have edit permissions
  2. Internet connection is stable
  3. No error messages appeared
Fix: Refresh and try again. Contact support if data loss occurred.

Data issues

Missing records

Symptoms: Clients, tasks, or other records aren’t visible. Check:
  1. You’re in the correct book
  2. Filters aren’t hiding records
  3. You have permission to view the records
  4. Records weren’t deleted

Duplicate records

Symptoms: Same client or contact appears twice. Fix:
  1. Use merge feature (if available) to combine duplicates
  2. Delete the duplicate manually
  3. Update references to point to correct record

Import errors

Symptoms: CSV import failed or created incorrect data. Common causes:
  • Column headers don’t match expected format
  • Required fields missing
  • Invalid data in cells (wrong date format, etc.)
Fix: Review import error messages, correct your file, re-import.

Workflow issues

Workflow not triggering

Symptoms: Workflow never runs when expected. Check:
  1. Workflow is published (not draft)
  2. Trigger conditions are correct
  3. The triggering event actually occurred
  4. No filter blocks are stopping execution

Sequence emails not sending

Symptoms: Enrolled contacts aren’t receiving emails. Check:
  1. Sequence is active
  2. It’s within business hours
  3. Recipient hasn’t been exited
  4. You haven’t hit enrollment limits

Mobile issues

App not syncing

Try:
  1. Force close and reopen the app
  2. Check internet connection
  3. Log out and back in
  4. Update to latest app version

Push notifications not working

Check:
  1. Notifications enabled in device settings
  2. Slant has notification permission
  3. Notification settings in Slant are configured
  4. Do Not Disturb isn’t active

Browser compatibility

Supported browsers

Slant works best on:
  • Chrome (recommended)
  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • Edge

Known issues

  • Internet Explorer is not supported
  • Very old browser versions may have issues
  • Some ad blockers interfere with functionality
