Storage integrations connect your cloud storage provider to Slant, giving you direct access to client documents from household records.

Why integrate storage?

  • Create subfolders — Organize documents with new folders from within Slant

Supported providers

Slant supports six cloud storage providers:

Each book connects one provider at a time. All six providers support the same core features: folder linking, file browsing, file upload, and folder creation.

How it works

Connect a provider

  • Navigate to Settings > File storage
  • Find your provider and click Connect [Provider name]
  • Sign in and grant the requested permissions
  • You are redirected back to Slant once connected
Only one integration per provider can be active per book. Once your storage is connected, link folders to individual households:
  • Open the household record
  • Expand the Files section
  • Click Link [Provider] folder
  • Browse your cloud storage and select the folder
  • The folder and its contents now appear in the household record

Browse and open files

After linking a folder:
  • Files and subfolders appear in the Files section of the household
  • Click a file to open it in a new tab on your storage provider
  • Click a folder to expand it and see its contents

Upload files

  • Open the linked folder (or a subfolder) in the household’s Files section
  • Click the upload icon
  • Select a file from your computer
  • The file uploads to that folder in your cloud storage

Create folders

  • Click the create folder icon within an expanded folder
  • Enter a name for the new folder
  • The folder is created in your cloud storage

Rename folders

  • Click the pencil icon next to a folder name
  • Enter the new name and press Enter
  • The folder is renamed in your cloud storage
  • In the household’s Files section, click the menu
  • Select Unlink folder
  • The folder is unlinked from the household but remains in your cloud storage

Sharing storage access

The person who connects the storage integration can share access with teammates.
  • Navigate to Settings > File storage
  • Click the connected integration card to open settings
  • Click Grant access and select teammates
  • Shared teammates can link folders and manage files
Team members without access see a message indicating they are waiting for the integration owner to link a folder.

Security

  • Slant accesses files using OAuth credentials scoped to the connected account
  • Files are not copied or stored by Slant
  • Revoking the integration removes Slant’s access
  • All data in transit uses HTTPS

Disconnecting

  • Navigate to Settings > File storage
  • Click the menu on the connected provider
  • Select Disconnect and confirm
Warning: Disconnecting removes storage access for all linked households. Files remain in your cloud storage unchanged.

Troubleshooting

Files not showing

  • Verify the folder is linked to the household
  • Confirm you have permission to access the folder in your cloud storage
  • Check that the integration is connected and active in Settings > File storage
  • Only users with folder management access can link folders
  • Ask the person who connected the integration to grant you access

Need to reauthenticate

  • Navigate to Settings > File storage
  • Click the menu on the provider
  • Select Reauthenticate and sign in again
