- No duplication — Files stay in your existing storage
- Link sharing — Share document links with clients easily
- Centralized view — See all client files in one place

How storage integration works
Folder structure
When you connect storage, Slant can create an organized folder structure:Document access
From any client record:- Click the Documents tab
- See files from their connected folder
- Open, download, or share files
- Upload new documents directly
Linking vs copying
Slant links to files in your storage—it doesn’t copy them:- Files stay in Google Drive/Dropbox
- No duplicate storage charges
- Changes sync automatically
- Original file permissions apply

Security considerations
Access control
- Slant accesses files using your OAuth credentials
- Team members see files based on their storage permissions
- Revoking the integration removes Slant’s access
Compliance
For firms with document retention requirements:- Documents in your storage follow your retention policies
- Slant doesn’t delete documents from storage
- Consider your storage provider’s compliance certifications
Encryption
- Files are encrypted by your storage provider
- Slant doesn’t store copies of your files
- Data in transit uses HTTPS/TLS
Troubleshooting
Documents not showing
Check:- Folder is correctly linked to the client
- You have permission to access the folder
- Integration is connected and active
Upload failures
Verify:- File size is within limits
- File type is supported
- Storage has available space
- Integration permissions include write access
Sync delays
Note:- New files may take a few moments to appear

Team coordination
When teams share storage:- Agree on folder structures
- Use consistent naming conventions
- Don’t move files others are using
