Automation templates are pre-built automations you can add to your book and customize. They provide a starting point for common workflows so you don’t have to build everything from scratch.

Browse templates

1

Open the automations page

Go to Automations in the sidebar.
2

Click New automation

Click New automation. The template picker opens.
3

Browse by category

Templates are organized into four categories:
  • Back office — administrative workflows like data entry and record keeping
  • Magic button — on-demand automations triggered by a button on a record
  • Prospecting — workflows for cultivating prospects and generating leads
  • Reviews & touch points — reminders and follow-ups for client reviews and regular check-ins
Click a category to filter templates, or choose All templates to see everything.
4

Preview a template

Click any template to see a preview of its trigger, actions, and a description of what it does. The preview also shows Getting started requirements — fields or integrations you’ll need to configure after adding the template.

Use a template

1

Select a template

From the template picker, click the template you want to use.
2

Click Use template

Click Use template. The template is added to your book as a new automation.
3

Configure the automation

The automation opens in the editor. Review the trigger and actions — some fields may need to be filled in with your specific tags, sequences, pipelines, or email accounts.
4

Publish

Once configured, click Publish automation to activate it.
Templates that you’ve already added show an Added badge in the picker.

Start from scratch

If none of the templates fit your needs, click Start from scratch at the bottom of the template picker to open a blank canvas. See Building automations for a step-by-step guide.
