Create or edit a note

Open the Notes tab
Open the record and select Notes.

Add or open a note
Click Add note to create one, or select an existing note to edit it.

Add content and details
Write the note, then add labels, mentions, or attachments as needed.

Save the note
Click Create note for a new note or Update note for an existing one. New attachments are uploaded when you save.
@ in the editor to mention a record or teammate. Teammate suggestions include people with access to the current book. Mentioned teammates receive a notification.
Attach files
Use the Attachments section in the note editor to add files in either of these ways:- Click Upload file and choose one or more files.
- Drag files from your computer onto the open note. When Drop files to attach appears, release them.
- Click Attach from drive to link a file from your connected file storage.
Locked notes are view-only. Unlock a note before adding or removing attachments.
Find and organize notes
Use the controls above the note list to change what you see:- Search — find text within the record’s notes
- Table view — show notes in rows with labels, creators, and dates
- Card view — show note previews as cards
- View settings — show hidden notes or filter notes by label
Manage notes in bulk
Bulk actions are available in Table view.1
Select notes
Select the checkbox beside each unlocked note. Use the header checkbox to select all unlocked notes currently loaded in the table.

Choose an action
In the selection bar, click Add label or Delete.

Complete the action
Choose a label, or confirm the permanent deletion.
Lock, hide, pin, or delete a note
Open the note’s ⋮ menu in the notes list to manage it:- Pin — keep the note at the top of the list
- Hide — remove the note from the default view and from AI context. Turn on Show hidden notes under View settings to find it again.
- Lock — make the note view-only. Its content, mentions, references, labels, and attachments cannot change while locked.
- Delete — permanently remove the note
Only admins can lock or unlock notes. Any user with access to the record can still view a locked note.
