Once a project is created, you manage it from the Projects page or the project detail page. This includes tracking progress, completing milestones, editing project details, and closing or deleting projects.

View projects

The Projects page shows all active projects in the current book. The All projects tab displays a list view with a preview panel on the right. Click any project to see its tasks, form responses, and comments in the panel. To open the full project detail page, click the project name in the list or click the icon in the panel.

Filtering

Use the quick filter chips at the top of the list to filter by:
  • Status — in progress, overdue, completed, or cancelled
  • Assignee — a specific team member or unassigned
  • Project type — a specific project type
Click Filter to add additional filter conditions.

Sorting

Click Sort to change the project order:
  • Start date (newest) — most recently created first (default)
  • Start date (oldest) — oldest projects first
  • Next task due (soonest) — projects with the nearest upcoming task deadline
  • Next task due (latest) — projects with the furthest upcoming task deadline
  • Pipeline changed (newest) — projects that most recently changed milestones
  • Pipeline changed (oldest) — projects that least recently changed milestones
  • Project type (A-Z) — alphabetical by project type name
  • Project type (Z-A) — reverse alphabetical by project type name

Searching

Type in the search bar to find projects by name or client name. Results update as you type.

Show completed projects

By default, completed and cancelled projects are hidden. To show them, click the icon and toggle Show completed projects.

Project detail page

The project detail page shows the full project with editable fields, tasks organized by milestone, form responses, and comments.

Edit project details

  • Name — click the project name to edit it inline
  • Description — click below the name to add or edit a rich text description
  • Assigned to — click the assignee to change it
  • Client — if no client is linked, you can add one from the detail page
The project type cannot be changed after creation.

Tasks by milestone

Tasks are grouped under their milestone in accordion sections. Each section shows the milestone name, a color indicator, and progress (percentage complete and task count). To add a task to a milestone, click the milestone’s menu and select Add task. You can also move a project to a different milestone from the milestone menu by selecting Move to milestone.

Complete a milestone

When all tasks in a milestone are done (or you’re ready to move on), click Complete milestone on the current milestone section.

Milestones without outcomes

If the milestone has no custom outcomes configured, Slant moves the project to the next milestone in sequence and creates its tasks. If the milestone has form fields for the next stage, you are prompted to fill them in first. You can optionally check Mark all tasks as complete to close any remaining tasks in the current milestone.

Milestones with outcomes

If the milestone has outcomes configured, you must select one:
  • Move to the next milestone — advances to the next milestone in order
  • Move to a specific milestone — jumps to a designated milestone (skipping others)
  • Complete the project — marks the project as finished
Each outcome can include a default comment that is added to the project when selected. If the destination milestone has form fields, you must complete them before confirming.

Auto-advance

Milestones can be configured to auto-advance when all tasks are completed. When this is enabled, the project moves to the next milestone automatically as soon as every task in the current milestone is marked done.

Complete a project

To finish a project manually, click Complete on the project detail page. You can optionally check Mark all tasks in project as complete to close any open tasks. The project status changes to completed and it is hidden from the default list view.

Delete a project

Click Delete on the project detail page. Confirm the deletion — you can optionally check Also delete all associated tasks to remove the project’s tasks as well.
Deleting a project cannot be undone. Tasks that are not explicitly deleted remain in your task list but lose their project link.

Comments

The Comments tab on the project detail page and preview panel provides a threaded discussion space. Use comments to record decisions, share context, or coordinate with team members.

Form responses

If the project’s milestones have form fields, the Form responses tab shows all collected values organized by milestone. Click the icon on any milestone section to update form field values.
