Importing clients from Wealthbox CRM into Slant

This guide explains how to import your client data from your CRM into Slant and troubleshoot common issues.

Connecting to Wealthbox CRM

Slant offers a direct integration with Wealthbox CRM to make importing your client data seamless. To get started, you’ll first need to connect your Wealthbox account to Slant.

Navigate to the Integrations section in your Slant settings

Find 'Wealthbox' in the list of available integrations

Click 'Connect' and follow the on-screen prompts to authorize Slant to access your Wealthbox data. You will need to enter your Wealthbox API key

To locate your Wealthbox API key, log in to Wealthbox, navigate to Account settings, click “API Access” and generate a new access token.

Once connected, Slant will be able to fetch client information from your Wealthbox account.

How to import clients

After connecting with Wealthbox, the client import process will automatically start.

Troubleshooting common issues

Sometimes, clients might not appear in Slant after an import, or data might seem incomplete. Here are some common reasons and how to resolve them:

1. Client status or type

If the client status or type is not set in Wealthbox, Slant will not import the client. We recommend reviewing your Wealthbox client statuses and ensuring they are configured to include the clients you expect.

2. Assigned client owner

Slant is configured to only import clients with a specific owner. Only clients who are assigned to you will be brought into your Book in Slant. If you are missing clients in Slant, check to see if they are assigned to someone else in Wealthbox.

3. Missing households

In Slant, a client is synonymous with a ‘Household’ in Wealthbox. If you have not already created a household record for your clients, Slant will automatically create one for you.
