Understanding the Slant interface helps you work efficiently. This guide walks you through the main areas of the application.

Interface overview

Slant’s interface has two main areas:
  • Sidebar — Navigation and quick access on the left
  • Main panel — Content and workspace on the right
The sidebar is your navigation hub. It’s organized into these sections:

Workspace switcher

At the top of the sidebar, click your workspace name to:
  • Switch between books (if you have access to multiple)
  • Access account settings
  • Open workspace settings (if you’re an admin)
  • Sign out

Quick actions

Below the workspace switcher, you’ll find quick action buttons:

The primary navigation includes:
  • Dashboard — Your daily overview with tasks, meetings, and recent activity
  • Clients — Your active client households
  • Prospects — Potential clients you’re cultivating
  • Contacts — Professional relationships (CPAs, attorneys, referrals)
  • Tasks — All tasks across your book
  • Calendar — Your meetings and appointments
  • Projects — Multi-step client projects
  • Opportunities — Sales pipeline tracking
  • Chat — AI assistant

Lists section

At the bottom of the sidebar, you’ll see your custom lists. Lists are saved views that help you focus on specific groups of records.

Main panel

The main panel displays the content you’re working with. Its layout changes based on what you’re viewing:

List views

When viewing clients, prospects, contacts, or tasks, you’ll see:
  • Toolbar — Filtering, sorting, and bulk action options
  • Data table — Your records in a customizable table
  • Selection tools — Checkboxes for bulk operations

Detail views

When viewing a single record (like a client), you’ll see:
  • Header — Name, quick info, and action buttons
  • Activity feed — Recent interactions, emails, and meetings
  • Sidebar panels — Tasks, notes, and related information

Split views

Some features use a split layout:
  • Calendar — Weekly/monthly view with meeting details panel
  • Projects — Kanban board with project details panel
  • Opportunities — Pipeline stages with opportunity details

Keyboard shortcuts

Speed up your workflow with these keyboard shortcuts:

Press Cmd/Ctrl + K to access the command palette, where you can search for anything in Slant or quickly navigate to any page.

Dashboard

Your dashboard is your home base in Slant. It shows:

Today's meetings

Upcoming meetings for the day with quick access to join or view details

Tasks due

Tasks due today and overdue items that need attention

Recent emails

Recent inbound emails from clients and contacts

Team activity

What your team has been working on (meetings, tasks, notes)
Slant’s global search helps you find anything quickly:

Open search

Press Cmd/Ctrl + K or click the search icon in the sidebar.

Type your query

Search for clients, contacts, tasks, or use natural language queries.

Select a result

Use arrow keys to navigate results, then press Enter to open.
You can search for:
  • Client and prospect names
  • Contact names
  • Task titles
  • Meeting titles
  • Email content
  • Note content

Customizing your view

Column customization

In list views, you can customize which columns are displayed:

Open column settings

Click the Columns button in the toolbar.

Toggle columns

Check or uncheck columns to show or hide them.

Reorder columns

Drag columns to change their order.

Filtering

Filter your data to focus on what matters:

Click Filter

Click the Filter button in the toolbar.

Add conditions

Select a field, operator, and value for your filter.

Apply the filter

Your view updates to show only matching records.

Saving views

Save your filters and column settings as a custom view:

Set up your view

Apply the filters and columns you want.

Save the view

Click Save view and give it a name.

Access saved views

Your saved views appear in the sidebar under the relevant section.
