Completed forms land on the Submissions tab, where you review the answers, compare them against what’s on file, and apply the changes to the household record. Nothing updates your records automatically — you choose exactly which answers to apply.

The Submissions tab

Each submission shows the respondent, the form, the source (Invitation or Public link), when it was submitted, its status, and how many documents were uploaded. New submissions are marked unread and flagged Needs review; once handled they show Applied or Dismissed. Click a submission to open it.

Review a submission

The review page lists every answer grouped by form section, with a count of how many questions were answered. You can:
  • Search answers with the Search fields and answers box
  • Toggle Show unanswered fields to see what was skipped
  • Open Details for the source, time to complete, device, and how many questions were answered
  • Click the file count to view uploaded documents

Apply a submission

Click Accept submission to open the apply view. What happens next depends on where the submission came from:
  • From an invitation — answers apply to the invited client or prospect.
  • From the public link — Slant looks for existing records matching the respondent’s details. Pick the matching record, or if there’s no match, create a new prospect from the submission. When creating a prospect you can adjust the first name, last name, primary email, and primary phone before saving.
The apply view shows a change table — grouped by Head of household, Spouse or partner, and Household — with each mapped field’s Current value and New value side by side. Only answers that differ from what’s on file are applied. Before applying you can:
  • Edit any new value inline
  • Clear a value you don’t want applied, or restore the form’s answer with Use form value
Click the apply button — it shows how many fields will be updated — to save the changes, or Create prospect for a new prospect. The submission’s status changes to Applied, and you can reopen it anytime and click View changes to see exactly what was updated.

Uploaded documents

Documents from the form are copied to the household’s folder in your connected file storage when you apply the submission. If the household doesn’t have a linked folder yet, the apply view asks you to choose a destination folder first. Each document shows its delivery status, and you can view or download the files from the submission at any time. Recipients can upload up to 20 files per submission, 25 MB each (100 MB total) — PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC, TXT, CSV, DOCX, and XLSX.

Dismiss a submission

If a submission doesn’t need action — a duplicate, a test, or spam from the public link — dismiss it to clear it from Needs review. Dismissed submissions stay on the tab, dimmed, so nothing is lost.

FAQ

Yes. Clear any value in the change table before applying, and edit values that need correcting. Only what remains in the table is applied.
Slant checks the current values when you apply. If a field changed since you loaded the review, the apply is rejected so you can re-review rather than overwrite someone else’s update.
No, submitted answers are permanent. You can edit the new values in the apply view before they reach your records, but the submission itself is preserved as the client sent it.
No. Once applied, a submission shows what changed via View changes but can’t be applied again.
