Prerequisites

Before connecting MyRepChat:
  • Active MyRepChat subscription
  • MyRepChat account credentials
  • Slant Professional or Enterprise plan
  • Approval from your compliance team

Connect MyRepChat

Go to integrations

Navigate to SettingsIntegrations.

Find MyRepChat

Locate MyRepChat in the available integrations.

Click Connect

Click the Connect button.

Sign in to MyRepChat

Enter your MyRepChat credentials or use SSO.

Authorize access

Allow Slant to connect with your MyRepChat account.

Configure settings

Set up team member mappings and preferences.

From a client record

Open client

Navigate to the client record.

Click Message

Click the message icon next to their mobile number.

Select MyRepChat

Choose MyRepChat as the messaging method.

Compose message

Write your message.

Send

Click Send. The message goes through MyRepChat for compliance.

Open messages

Click the messages icon in the sidebar.

Select contact

Choose who to message.

Write your message and click Send.

Navigate to the client.

Compliance features

Automatic archiving

Every message sent through MyRepChat is automatically:
  • Captured and stored
  • Time-stamped
  • Associated with sender and recipient
  • Retained per your firm’s policy

Pre-send review

If your firm enables pre-send review:
  1. You compose the message
  2. Message is held for supervisor review
  3. Supervisor approves or rejects
  4. Approved messages are sent

Post-send review

For post-send supervision:
  1. Messages send immediately
  2. Compliance reviews messages afterward
  3. Flagged messages are escalated

Lexicon monitoring

MyRepChat can flag messages containing:
  • Prohibited terms
  • Compliance keywords
  • Sensitive information
Flagged messages trigger alerts to supervisors.

DLP (Data Loss Prevention)

Prevent sensitive data from being sent:
  • Social Security numbers
  • Account numbers
  • Passwords
Messages with detected sensitive data can be blocked.

Map team members

Connect Slant users to MyRepChat users:

Go to MyRepChat settings

Navigate to SettingsIntegrationsMyRepChat.

Open team mapping

Click Team mapping.

Match users

Associate each Slant user with their MyRepChat account.

Save

Click Save to apply mappings.

Supervision settings

Configure supervision levels in MyRepChat:

Best practices

Keep messages professional

  • Use clear, professional language
  • Avoid abbreviations that could be misunderstood
  • Don’t discuss specific investment recommendations
  • Keep messages factual, not promotional

Respond promptly

  • Clients expect quick responses to texts
  • Set expectations for response times
  • Use auto-replies if unavailable

Document appropriately

  • Text messages are part of the client record
  • Don’t use texts to circumvent documentation requirements
  • Follow up important texts with formal communication when needed

Train your team

  • Ensure all team members understand compliance requirements
  • Regular training on appropriate text usage
  • Clear policies on what can and can’t be discussed via text

Troubleshooting

Messages not sending

Check:
  • MyRepChat account is active
  • User mapping is configured
  • Message doesn’t trigger DLP blocks
  • MyRepChat service is operational

Messages not appearing in Slant

Verify:
  • Integration is connected
  • Webhook configuration is correct
  • Client phone number matches

Pre-send approval taking too long

Consider:
  • Check supervisor availability
  • Review supervision policies
  • Contact MyRepChat support

Client not receiving messages

Ensure:
  • Phone number is correct
  • Number can receive SMS
  • Client hasn’t opted out
  • Carrier isn’t blocking messages

Disconnect MyRepChat

Go to integrations

Navigate to SettingsIntegrations.

Locate MyRepChat in connected integrations.

Click Disconnect

Click Disconnect and confirm.
Disconnecting stops compliant texting through Slant. Archived messages remain in MyRepChat per retention policies.
