Add email steps
After creating the sequence, add the emails that will send:Set the timing

- Day 1 — Sends the same day as enrollment (if within business hours)
- Day 3 — Sends two business days after the previous step
Write your email
Compose the email:
- Subject — The email subject line (supports variables)
- Body — The email content (supports rich text and variables)
Use personalization variables
Make emails feel personal by inserting recipient data:| Variable | Inserts |
|---|---|
person.first_name | Recipient’s first name |
person.last_name | Recipient’s last name |
household.name | Household name |
sender.first_name | Your first name |
sender.email | Your email address |
Timing considerations
Sequences only send during business hours (9 AM – 5 PM) on business days in your timezone. Day 1 timing:- If you enroll someone at 10 AM on Tuesday, the Day 1 email sends that day
- If you enroll someone at 7 PM on Tuesday, the Day 1 email sends Wednesday morning
- If you enroll someone on Saturday, the Day 1 email sends Monday
- Day numbers refer to business days, not calendar days
- Day 3 means “on the third business day” — so Tuesday enrollment → Thursday delivery
- Weekends and holidays are skipped automatically

Note: You can edit sequences at any time, but changes only affect new enrollees. People already enrolled continue receiving the original version.

| 3 | Day 6 | ”Resource you might find helpful” |
| 4 | Day 10 | ”Checking in one more time” |
