Manage your sequences over time — enable and disable them, manage individual enrollments, duplicate sequences, and delete ones you no longer need.

Enable and disable sequences

Enable a sequence

Toggle the Enable sequence switch in the top-right corner of the sequence detail page. Only enabled sequences can accept new enrollments and execute steps.

Disable a sequence

Toggle the Enable sequence switch off. Disabling a sequence:
  • Pauses all active enrollments
  • Prevents new enrollments
  • Does not delete or remove any data
When you re-enable a sequence that has paused enrollments, Slant asks whether to resume the paused enrollments or leave them paused. If you leave them paused, their status reason changes from “sequence disabled” to “manually paused.”

Manage enrollments

View enrollments

  • Open the sequence
  • Click the Enrollments tab
  • Select an enrollment from the list to view its details
The enrollment detail view shows:
  • Who enrolled the household and when
  • Each step’s status (completed, scheduled, or skipped)
  • The scheduled date for the next step
  • The sending account for this enrollment

Enrollment statuses

StatusMeaning
ActiveCurrently progressing through the sequence
PausedTemporarily stopped — can be resumed
FinishedCompleted all steps or exited early

Enrollment status reasons

When an enrollment finishes early, a reason is displayed:
ReasonWhat happened
Email reply receivedThe recipient replied to a sequence email
Meeting scheduledA meeting was scheduled with the household
Manual exitSomeone manually exited the enrollment
UnsubscribedThe recipient unsubscribed from emails
Sequence disabledThe sequence was disabled while the enrollment was active

Pause an enrollment

  • Open the sequence and go to the Enrollments tab
  • Select the enrollment
  • Click Pause
Pausing cancels all scheduled steps. The enrollment remembers which business day it paused on.

Resume an enrollment

  • Select the paused enrollment
  • Click Resume
  • Confirm in the dialog
Resuming reschedules remaining steps starting from where the enrollment paused. Steps that were due before or on the pause day execute immediately.

Exit an enrollment

  • Select an active or paused enrollment
  • Click Exit
Exiting finishes the enrollment and cancels all remaining scheduled steps. Emails and tasks that were already sent or created remain on the household.

Delete an enrollment

Only finished enrollments can be deleted.
  • Select a finished enrollment
  • Click Delete
  • Confirm in the dialog
Warning: Deleting an enrollment removes the tracking data. Emails and tasks that were already sent or created remain on the household but are no longer associated with the sequence.

Duplicate a sequence

Create a copy of a sequence with all its steps but no enrollments.
  • From the sequences list, click the three-dot menu on the sequence
  • Select Duplicate sequence
  • Enter a name for the copy
  • Click Duplicate
The duplicated sequence is created in an inactive state. Enable it when you are ready to start enrolling.

Activate and deactivate from the list

From the sequences list, click the three-dot menu on any sequence and select Activate or Deactivate to toggle its status without opening it.

Delete a sequence

Delete a sequence permanently from the Settings tab.
  • Open the sequence and go to the Settings tab
  • Click Delete sequence in the danger zone
  • Confirm the deletion
Warning: Deleting a sequence is permanent. Emails and tasks that were already sent or created remain on households but are no longer linked to the sequence. This cannot be undone. Note: You cannot delete a sequence that has active enrollments. Remove all active enrollments first.

The sequences list page shows all sequences in your book with key information:

Troubleshooting

Emails not sending

  • Verify the sequence is enabled (not disabled)
  • Check that the enrollment is active (not paused or finished)
  • Confirm it is within business hours
  • Verify an email integration is connected

Cannot delete a sequence

You must remove all active enrollments before deleting. Exit or pause active enrollments first.
