Notification settings let you control which alerts you receive and how they’re delivered. Customize notifications to stay informed without being overwhelmed.

Access notification settings

Open settings

Click Settings in the sidebar.

Select Notifications

Click Notifications in your account settings.

Notification channels

In-app notifications

Notifications that appear within Slant:
  • Notification bell icon
  • Activity feed
  • Real-time alerts
Always enabled for important system messages.

Email notifications

Notifications sent to your email:
  • Daily digests
  • Important alerts
  • Mentions and assignments
Configure frequency and types below.

Mobile push notifications

If using Slant mobile app:
  • Task reminders
  • Meeting alerts
  • Urgent notifications
Requires notification permission in your device settings.

Find notification type

Locate the notification in settings.

Toggle on/off

Click the toggle to enable or disable.

Select where to receive (in-app, email, push).

Email digest settings

Control email notification bundling:

Quiet hours

Pause non-urgent notifications:

Enable quiet hours

Toggle on Quiet hours.

Set schedule

Choose start and end times (e.g., 6 PM – 8 AM).

Set days

Select which days (e.g., every day, weekends only).
Note: Critical security alerts ignore quiet hours.

Notification preferences by importance

Always receive

These notifications can’t be disabled:
  • Security alerts
  • Account changes
  • Critical system errors
These help you stay productive:
  • Task assignments and due dates
  • Meeting reminders
  • Mentions
  • Client emails

Consider off

These may cause notification fatigue:
  • All team activity
  • Non-urgent completions
  • Informational updates

Mobile app settings

Enable push notifications

On iOS or Android:

Open device settings

Go to your phone’s Settings app.

Find Slant

Navigate to Apps → Slant.

Enable notifications

Toggle on notifications and configure preferences.

App-specific settings

Within the Slant mobile app:
  • Which notifications trigger push
  • Sound and vibration settings
  • Badge count preferences

Troubleshooting

Not receiving notifications

Check:
  • Notification settings are enabled
  • Email isn’t going to spam
  • Mobile app has permission
  • Quiet hours aren’t active

Too many notifications

Solutions:
  • Switch to daily digest for email
  • Disable low-priority types
  • Enable quiet hours
  • Unsubscribe from team activity

Delayed notifications

Causes:
  • Network connectivity issues
  • Email provider delays
  • High system load
Email notifications may be batched; in-app notifications are real-time.
