Calendar sync brings your meetings into Slant automatically. See upcoming appointments, link meetings to clients, and track meeting history as part of client activity.

How calendar sync works

When enabled, Slant syncs events from your connected calendar:
  • Events import — Calendar events sync to Slant
  • Participant matching — Attendees are matched to household records by email
  • Automatic linking — Meetings appear in linked household activity
  • Ongoing sync — New and updated events sync continuously

What syncs

Event details

For each calendar event, Slant captures:
  • Title — Event name/subject
  • Date and time — Start, end, and timezone
  • Participants — All attendees and their RSVP status
  • Description — Event notes and agenda
  • Meeting links — Video call URLs (Zoom, Teams, Meet)
  • Location — Physical or virtual meeting location

Recurring events

Recurring meetings sync as individual occurrences. Each instance appears separately with its own date and time.

All-day events

All-day events (like holidays or reminders) sync but may be displayed differently than timed meetings.

View your meetings

On household records

Meetings with clients appear in their household activity:
  • Upcoming meetings show in the activity timeline
  • Past meetings become part of the activity history
  • Click a meeting to see full details

Meeting linking

Automatic linking

Slant links meetings to households when:
  • A calendar participant’s email matches a person in your CRM
  • That person belongs to a household
No manual action required — the connection happens automatically.

Meeting types

Meetings are categorized to help you track how you spend your time:
TypeDescription
OtherDefault for uncategorized meetings
ProspectMeetings with potential clients
ReviewScheduled portfolio reviews
Check-inRegular client meetings
InternalTeam meetings (not client-facing)
Slant infers meeting types based on participants and title. For example, a meeting with “review” in the title is automatically categorized as a review. You can override the type manually. Video call URLs are automatically extracted from calendar events:
  • Zoomzoom.us/j/... links
  • Microsoft Teamsteams.microsoft.com/... links
  • Google Meetmeet.google.com/... links
Meeting links also get extracted from event descriptions and locations when not provided in the conferencing data.

Configure sync settings

Enable or disable sync

Toggle calendar sync on or off without disconnecting your email:
1

Open email settings

Navigate to Settings > Email and calendar accounts.
2

Click your connected account

Select the account you want to configure.
3

Toggle calendar sync

Enable or disable calendar sync as needed.
Disabling sync stops future events from importing but preserves existing synced meetings.

Meeting prep

Use synced calendar data for meeting preparation:
  • Client context — View the household record before the meeting
  • Recent activity — See recent emails, notes, and tasks
  • Open items — Check pending tasks to discuss
  • AI-generated prep — Slant can generate pre-meeting briefings for upcoming meetings with linked households

Troubleshooting

Meetings not syncing

Causes:
  • Calendar sync disabled in settings
  • Calendar permissions not granted during OAuth
Fix: Check settings, verify permissions, or reconnect to grant calendar access.

Meeting not linked to household

Causes:
  • Participant email does not match any person record
  • Person is not associated with a household
Fix: Add the email address to the person’s record. The meeting will link automatically once the email matches.
