Create a prospect when you have a potential client to track. Prospects help you manage your sales pipeline separately from your active client relationships.

Create a prospect

Open the prospect list

Click Prospects in the sidebar to view your prospect list.

Start creating

Click the + New prospect button in the top-right corner.

Enter the head of household

Fill in the first and last name of the primary contact. This person becomes the head of household.

Add contact information

Enter an email address or phone number. At least one contact method is recommended for follow-up.

Save the prospect

Click Create to add the prospect to your book.
Your new prospect appears in the prospect list and you’re taken to their detail page.

Required information

To create a prospect, you only need:
  • Name — At least a first name or last name for the head of household
Unlike clients, prospects don’t require a contact method—though having one makes follow-up easier.

Add from different sources

From a referral

When an existing client refers someone:

Create the prospect

Add the referred person as a new prospect.

Note the referral source

Add a note indicating who referred them and any context they provided.

Create a follow-up task

Add a task to reach out within your target timeframe.

From an event or seminar

After meeting potential clients at an event:

Create prospects for attendees

Use Create more mode to quickly add multiple prospects.

Tag them consistently

Apply a tag like “2024 Seminar” to track the source.

Enroll in a sequence

Add them to a follow-up email sequence for nurturing.

Create multiple prospects

To add several prospects in quick succession:

Enable 'Create more' mode

In the create dialog, toggle on Create more at the bottom.

Create the first prospect

Enter the prospect information and click Create.

Continue adding

The dialog stays open. Enter the next prospect and repeat.

Finish

Click Cancel or press Escape when done.

Add tags during creation

Categorize prospects as you create them:
  • In the create dialog, click Add tags
  • Select tags that help you organize and filter later
  • Common tags: referral source, event name, lead quality

Add household members

After creating a prospect, add additional family members:

Open the prospect record

Navigate to the prospect’s detail page.

Go to the Household tab

Click Household in the navigation.

Add a member

Click Add member and choose the role (Partner, Dependent child, Other adult, Other dependent).

Enter their information

Fill in the person’s name and contact details.

Create an opportunity

Link a prospect to a sales opportunity to track their progress through your pipeline:

Open the prospect record

Navigate to the prospect’s detail page.

Create opportunity

Click Add opportunity or navigate to Opportunities and create one linked to this prospect.

Set details

Enter the potential AUM, expected close date, and current pipeline stage.
